About Barzel Metal Works

Barzel Metal Works is one welder, one shop, in Jackson, New Jersey.

Every railing and handrail on this site is cut, welded, ground and powder coated here at 436 West Commodore Blvd. Nothing is bought in and re-badged. Nothing is drop-shipped. If you order a 6 ft 4 in handrail, someone measures 6 ft 4 in, cuts it, welds the returns on both ends, and puts it in a box.

Made to your measurement, not to a stock length

Most places sell railings in whole feet and expect you to make up the difference. We build to the inch — every inch from 1 to 20 ft on handrails, 1 to 10 ft on guardrails. A stair that measures 67 inches gets a 67 inch rail.

That is the whole reason the sliders on this site exist. You put in your measurement, you see the price for that measurement, and that is what gets built.

How it is built

  • 16-gauge steel tube throughout — rails, posts and infill.
  • Fully welded, then ground smooth. No bolt-together frames.
  • Powder coated after welding, so the coating covers the welds and not the other way round.
  • Handrails sit 2 inches clear of the wall and both ends turn back into it. Code minimum is 1-1/2 inches; we build 2 so coating thickness and an out-of-flat wall can never bring it under.
  • Every gap passes the 4 inch sphere rule, at every length we sell.
  • Brackets, screws and a paper drilling template come in the box.

Fit it yourself, or we come out

Everything arrives finished and ready to bolt down — a drill is all most people need. If you are in Ocean or Monmouth County, New Jersey, we will come and measure it, build it and install it ourselves.

We also build things that are not on this site at all: L-shapes, U-shapes, stair rails, gates, window well covers, and whatever you have sketched on a piece of paper. If it is metal, ask.
